The Green Green Grass of Maleny
As a drought prone country, Australia is famous for dry, dusty, hungry landscapes. I painted this landscape on a visit to Maleny, in South East Queensland, because the abundance of green grass was so soothing to look at. It reminded me of times of abundance, of gentle rainfall, and misty mornings. I wanted to capture that feeling so people could take it home and remember that there is always hope when the rains are a long time coming.
My landscapes are less about the scenery and more about the quiet empty spaces the scenery contains. This landscape invites you to pause for a moment and daydream.
